United Home Solutions Overview

United Home Solutions is a small enterprise with less than 50 employees and is headquartered in Dallas, Texas. Aside from their Dallas headquarters, they also have 2 locations in Fort Worth, Texas, and 1 in Tampa, Florida, which allows them to provide their services to Texas and Florida. It was founded or incorporated in 2019 as a Domestic Limited Liability Company, making it a fairly new establishment. Despite this, their revenue is almost $5 million.

United Home Solutions has officially been a company for only three years. However, their skilled installation team has installed more than 70,000 panels over 20-plus years. The team also has 32 years of experience in electrical projects, having performed high-volume, large-scale jobs for IBM, Texas Instruments, EDS, and more. They have been winning awards for the past 7 years and were named one of the Top 500 Solar Installers by Solar Power World.

Installation Cost and Process

Costs

The offered prices of United Home Solutions are not available to the general public. They make their offered prices available to those who inquire through their phone number or website. Customers can choose between booking an appointment or getting a free solar quote to be informed about specific pricing. This can be done through the website.

Customers didn’t specify whether they paid close to their quotes. However, they gave United Home Solutions relatively low ratings for the cost and quality of their products and services.

United Home Solutions, in collaboration with the government of Texas, offers financing solutions. There is a solar tax credit in the form of a federal solar investment tax credit. This is available to homeowners with solar panels that are newly installed or used for the first time. Homeowners can claim 26% of the total solar project costs as a credit on their federal tax returns. Claimable costs include equipment, installation, and permit.

There are also solar rebates. The residential solar energy buyback plan in Texas allows customers to earn cash or credit. However, this is only available in selected serviceable areas. Residential customers can also benefit from local utility companies’ solar rebates. They may be eligible for cash incentives between $2,500 to $8,500, depending on the electric power provider, solar system size, location, and income.

Legitimacy

United Home Solutions has a good online presence. Their website, social media pages, phone number, and email address were easy to find. However, their license numbers are nowhere to be seen. Their certifications and partnerships are not visible either.

The website of United Home Solutions could use more improvement, especially when it comes to content and legitimacy. They are a small company, but with decades of experience and thousands of installations.

Maintenance

United Home Solutions has received mixed reviews, roughly equal amounts of good and bad. For the good reviews,  they were described as great to work with, knowledgeable, and didn’t push customers to commit to anything. They are said to have done an excellent job from start to finish and come highly recommended.

However, United Home Solutions has its fair share of bad reviews as well. Some customers describe them to be a test of patience, with their installation process being a chore to deal with and customer service being less than adequate. They were also said to have poor sales tactics that overpromised system production. Lastly, some customers recommend not getting in business with United Home Solutions due to poor administration support.

The SolarEmpower View

Despite being a small company that has been operational for only three years, United Home Solutions is proud of its awards, multiple locations, experience, and the number of completed installations. They have a comprehensive set of services catering to interested solar and non-solar customers. Most of these customers are satisfied in terms of costs, support, and maintenance. However, a significant number of customers have rated United Home Solutions negatively. Furthermore, their website’s content, especially regarding online legitimacy, could do with more improvement.

Install and then close shop
This company made an install and then closed shop, disconnected all phones, email etc. cannot get in touch with them to get a broken panel on delivered replaced. One panel was shipped broken, and they said they would send us a replacement, but never heard from them again. All numbers are disconnected and they do not answer emails. Even the address is different now than what is listed at the BBB.
