Installation costs and process

Cost

The average cost of solar panels in California is between $3.00 and $5.00 per watt. This means that a solar system that is 5 kilowatts in size would generally cost between $15,000 – $25,000 to install. Rehab Solar pricing can range from $300-$700,000, depending on the services rendered. They are associated with financing companies like Hero Program and Sungage Financial, which offer homeowners a wide range of low-cost, no-money-down solar financing and tax credit solutions.

When SolarEmpower asked Rehab Solar about its cost, the company told us:

“We are heavily interested in quality of products. As such, I have 5 different panel types on my house just to see how each panel produces the best in real life circumstances. This allows us to see which panel will be best for our customers based on price, quality and production.”

This is a great sign as we have not found many companies respond with personal experience.

If you decide to follow through with  Rehab Solar, there are several processes to take note of. First of all, everyone uses energy differently, and to get an accurate quote; they will need to assess your energy usage and future needs. After getting a quote, a site survey by Rehab Solar will be carried out to make sure the proposed solar panels will fit on your roof and accounts for chimneys, roof vents, and other factors. An initial deposit will be expected.

Your proposed layout will then be engineered into CAD drawings, and your project will be submitted for permit approval. A progress payment may be due at this point.

Maintenance

The company offers yearly and bi-yearly maintenance programs that keep your system operating at peak performance. Most customers can see a 5% increase just by having their panels cleaned.

The company does not specifically state the term of warranty but our research indicates that the solar panels they use carry a standard manufacturers warranty that generally ranges between 20 – 25 years. Our research also indicates that Rehab Solar offers a 15-year workmanship warranty; however we must stress that this is not verified and customers should make it their duty to confirm these terms before proceeding.

Based on customer feedback, the company appears to offer a good level of support to its existing customers and are efficient and easy to interact with when it comes to Emails. There is a contact form on their website, making it easy to get in touch with them and make inquiries.

When SolarEmpower asked Rehab Solar about maintenance, the company responded:

“All the installers are Rehab Solar’s employees. The only time we use subcontractors are if you needed a new roof, or if we upgrade your electric panel and you need stucco repair. If it’s just a solar installation, we take care of the entire process with our employees.”

The SolarEmpower View

Rehab Solars is a top-notch solar energy contractor that puts its customer’s needs first. Its superb reviews are a testament to the company’s work ethic. The company has also maintained a strong customer rating which is always a good sign; however, they could do a little better at making their warranty information known. Looking at the company’s project gallery, they have mainly dealt with residential properties, and being a family-owned and operated business likely makes them more suited to these types of projects. A worthy option as your residential solar installer in California.
