Imagine Energy Services and Specifics

Solar Panels and Services Offered by Imagine Energy

Specific Solar Panels Offered

Imagine Energy clients can expect photovoltaic panels that provide optimal power production. Depending on the space and capacity available, they offer rooftop or ground-mounted solar panel installations to homeowners and businesses. Paying attention to detail, Imagine Energy solar panel installations offer clients aesthetics while reducing both operational and maintenance costs.

Specific Types of Solar Offered

Providing energy independence from power grids, this solar energy company’s services include backup energy storage systems for homes and businesses. Imagine Energy power-saving solutions extend to electric vehicle (EV) drivers with EV chargers’ installations in both home and commercial new energy systems.

Costs

Estimated solar panel installation costs for a home are around $3.15/W, with an average system size being 5 kW. Homeowners can budget approximately $15,750 although this figure doesn’t factor in tax credits and financial incentives, which can include:

  • A federal tax credit of 26% offsets on your solar system costs and construction beginning in 2022.
  • Cash rebates from Energy Trust of Oregon for Pacific Power customers purchasing a solar system.
  • Rebates from the Department of Oregon for local residents installing solar electric and solar plus battery backup systems. Calculated based on income levels, Oregon residents can expect anything up to $5,000 off their solar electric systems and $2,500 off solar energy storage systems.

Imagine Energy has relationships with various financial institutions that can offer loans to Pacific Northwest clients wanting to switch over to solar power.

Legitimacy

Imagine Energy is a legitimate renewable energy provider for Pacific Northwest residents and businesses. Their online portfolio of completed successful projects in the Pacific Northwest shares images of residential, commercial, and not-for-profit solar projects. This clearly demonstrates their reach in the local community. Heading over to Central Oregon gives sufficient proof of their legitimacy in the industry, with over 300 acres of 160,000 PV modules installed by the company.

This is one of the oldest solar energy service providers that’s still operating today in Oregon. The company’s website and Facebook page highlight positive reviews by satisfied customers. Their headquarters’ physical address, which is located in Milwaukee, Oregon, is listed on Imagine Energy’s website as well as email and phone contact details.

The company has teamed up with a local not-for-profit organization, Leaders Become Legends, mentoring at-risk community members. They prepare them to become valuable members of the workforce. Imagine Energy plays a valuable role in the Oregon Community Solar group, offering subscribers the opportunity to “own” part of a large-scale centralized solar system in the Pacific Northwest region.

Maintenance

A customer review on the company’s website mentions that Imagine Energy followed up with spot maintenance on a recently installed solar system. Imagine Energy encourages their clients to call them if their systems are under-performing. The company can assist with the removal and replacement of solar panels mounted on rooftops if a client needs roofing repairs.

While they don’t state it clearly, on the company’s website, they do have a services team handling maintenance of their solar energy systems.

I saw Scotts review below…
I saw Scotts review below and had to chime in too. We signed our contract in June '22 as well. Our sales experience with Heath was fantastic and I felt I was making a great choice. It is now April 3, 2023 and I haven't heard anything. I have reached out a few times to see where we're at in queue and I generally get some reasoning that the install crew is sick, or weather is bad. I reached out in February with no response from the Project Manager we were assigned. I've left well enough alone from December through now since obviously the weather hasn't been particularly great, but we're going on 1 year with no clue when we'll be able to get our system installed after an original install estimate of September '22, then Nov '22.

I would be very cautious moving forward with Imagine Energy as their Project Management team does not instill the confidence their sales team does.

We launched our solar system…
We launched our solar system project with Imagine Energy in June '22 after seeing great reviews and having a positive sales experience. It's now mid-February '23 and we're struggling to see this across the finish line. Several delays for different reasons, and not strong communication along the way. We really like everyone at Imagine Energy on a personal level, but I would caution others considering a contract with them now. Definitely get an installation schedule agreement in writing on the front end. Once you're under contract, the attention you get could be poor. Also, expect to do a fair amount of project management yourself to ensure details don't fall through the cracks and to simply know when things will happen. Project management is much more reactive than proactive. A positive: the owner agreed to pay the additional 12 mo. financing costs triggered by missing the Fed tax incentive on our '22 taxes. That offset extra costs, but didn't reduce the original planned cost of the system. Will update review once project is finished.

A door-to-door solar salesperson from…
A door-to-door solar salesperson from a competing company came by a rental house of mine a few days ago. The pitch was compelling and I was ready to move forward on purchasing new roof panels. So I contacted Imagine Energy for a second opinion and quote; they did my neighbor’s house last year. Ross, one of Imagine’s sales people, came by and talked me through the process and the details I was unsure about. He walked me through all the (confusing) numbers, short term costs and long term gains, showed me their model for my house and - given the size and the fact that it is a rental, helped me decide that solar, although a great way to potentially control future electric cost increases and a good thing to do for the environment/global warming, actually wasn't a good fit for my current situation, with this rental at this time.

It was comforting to talk to someone who could answer every one of my questions clearly, and make the numbers (cost and benefits) and process understandable. (It's pretty confusing when you get into the weeds - the whole "net metering", power company monthly flat fees, annual/seasonal usage, choosing the right number/location of panels, battery or no battery decision metrics, etc.) Grateful to have someone give me an honest opinion on the pros and cons on both the projections, and financing offers I’d gotten, with zero pressure, just good information.

To be honest I felt it was downright honorable that he helped me choose to postpone solar on this rental house, rather than pushing me into, a large purchase that wasn't a fit. If you're interested in solar as a good way to control your electric bill costs, Imagine is my choice. Based on this experience, I highly recommend them.

I had a very poor exprience with sales, but received assurances, an appology and a detailed reply from their OPS Director that these were very outlyier miscommunications and do not represent their values or standards they strive to hold themselves to. While I will not chose to work with this business, my background is engineering and manufacturing and appreciate the reply of this business leader. This shows character and professionalism. Thanks.

18-month update: We haven’t paid a…
18-month update:

We haven't paid a dime over the minimum bill for electricity service since having solar installed. Going solar has been one of the best decisions we have ever made, both for the environment and for our monthly expenses. All production estimates provided by the company have been either met or exceeded. I can confirm their sales data is no lie - it is extremely accurate, you will see the savings that they say you will see.

After having this system for more than a year, I wanted to integrate the inverter data into my smart home management server. Access to this data requires a server-side change on the part of the installer, and is a moderately complicated task. I emailed Imagine Energy requesting this access, and even 18 months post-install, they got back to me within 24 hours and provided the access I needed. Imagine Energy continues to provide excellent support even long after the sale, which is truly a great thing!

Original Review:

Imagine Energy did an excellent job with the design and installation of our new residential solar system. They provided several cost proposals from different panel manufacturers so we could choose the configuration that met our needs. Ultimately we chose a Tier 1 manufacturer with a system size sufficient to offset our full consumption.

Installation was completed in 3 days, and their crew was extremely polite and courteous to us. Their electricians worked to ensure that there would be minimal noise and disruption to our workday. The work is flawless, and the crew is extremely good at what they do, from design through power-on. Once installed, the system passed both county and utility inspections without any issues.

Our system was priced extremely competitively when compared to other firms in the area; their proposal for the panel configuration we selected ended up being the lowest cost bid we received for this setup. However, we selected them based on their knowledge of the industry, straightforward pricing (with no sales pressure), and their overall attention to detail throughout the design and proposal process. We're extremely happy with the results, and would not hesitate to select Imagine Energy again for our future green energy needs.
