Wanzek Construction Overview

Wanzek Construction is a large general contractor based in North Dakota. The company started off by working on construction projects, but has since worked its way to becoming one of the largest companies in the state to provide EPC services for renewable energy. Wanzek construction is primarily a commercial installation company, rather than residential.

Wanzek Construction has been in business for 21 years, and has varying reviews online – with some being positive, and some being very negative.

Solar Panels and services offered by Real Solar

Specific Solar Panels Offered

SolarEmpower has contacted Wanzek Construction for more information on their solar systems, however, they did not reply to us. There is also no specific information on their website regarding the specific solar panels offered by the company – however, many customer reviews describe them as being of poor quality. However, the pricing is far lower than that of many other companies within the state.

Specific Types of Solar offered

Coming from a construction background, Wanzek Construction offers a wide range of services – which do not just fit within the solar category.

The company has its own in-house design team, which allows them to provide tailored systems to each and every one of their clients; meaning every system is maximised in terms of efficiency. In addition to this, the company has its own engineering team – and they offer their knowledge and expertise to customers so they can be assured that they are getting the system they want.

The company’s priority is delivering high-quality systems and maximising project output with minimal life-cost.

Installation costs and process

Wanzek Construction is very vague about their pricing and, when SolarEmpower asked the company about costs, Wanzek Construction did not provide us with a response. Fortunately, the customer reviews online provide more than enough information regarding the systems.

The systems are generally focussed on offering competitive pricing. If you are looking for a large, commercial or agricultural system, Wanzek may therefore stand you in good stead.

Additionally, unlike their competitors, the company does not seem to offer assistance when it comes to taking advantage of tax rebates. There is also no information regarding financing.

Wanzek Construction is a legitimate company:

  • The company has an A+ BBB rating.
  • The company is transparent with its contact details.
  • The company has many customer reviews online.
  • The company displays all of its licenses on its website.

With this being said, the company does not have accreditation from the BBB – despite having an A+ rating – which is rather peculiar.

The company does not say whether they offer any form of maintenance with its systems – meaning customers will either have to rely on third party organisations to maintain their systems, or ensure Wanzek provides guarantees of maintenance.

The company seems poor in terms of communication, and has not replied to any of our emails – which seems to be the same for customers given their reviews online. Those who did get a response from the company describe employees as “insulting” and unpleasant to deal with.

The SolarEmpower View

Wanzek Construction is a company which has established itself as a strong player in the field of construction, but this cannot be said for the solar industry. Given their low quality systems and poor communication skills, the company is nowhere near the level of its main competitors in the state – who offer far better service, for a reasonable price.

Are Wanzek Construction trustworthy?

Wanzek Construction seem trustworthy, but at times difficult to deal with.

Will Real Solar provide proper maintenance?

We did not find any evidence that the company will provide proper, long-term maintenance, so we’d recommend that you inquire for a guarantee from Wanzek.

No, North Dakota Law states that you cannot terminate a contract after signing it.

Great place to work ,…
Great place to work , the crew I worked with were some honest fun people for the most part I didn't get a chance to meet every single person on every single crew but I didn't think that any of the crews were bad. Our boss **** was a cool guy he wasn't ever around us for very long because it was a new project but he seemed like he knew what he was doing overall in the short time I was there it was cool.

Apparently they can't park next to a Tesla without getting offended. Might want to take an anger management class before they get busted by Romanian police after eating pizza and getting their ego bruised parking next to a Tesla.
