Voltio Energy – alternatively referred to as Voltio SmartHome or Voltio Solar Savings on its social media – advertises many products and services on its website, including solar panels, battery backups, water filtration, and even air conditioning units. Established in 2018 and situated in Las Vegas, Nevada, Voltio Energy services an area covering six states.
Although their website talks a big game, they’ve made little impact online, with only a handful of reviews to their name. More concerning is the overall lack of information about the company or the people behind it.

Specific Solar Panels offered
Voltio Energy offers several brands in its installations, including Heliene, Longi Solar, SilFab Solar, and Aptos. They claim that their panels are in the top five most efficient solar panels – though they don’t specify the top 5 according to who, or in what way.
Specific Types of Solar Offered
Voltio Energy’s services cover a wide array of energy-saving and environmentally friendly technologies. In terms of solar energy, they specialise in residential, roof-mounted solar panels and associated battery backup systems. They offer multiple other services included in the installation, such as roof repairs, garage roof conversions, water filtration systems, air conditioning, and home heating systems, amongst many others.
Voltio Energy Installation Costs and Process
Costs
Voltio Energy advertises financing with “no money down” for its solar energy systems, promising that the customer can expect low monthly payments. They emphasise that they can finance any project – in bold, all over their website. None of their limited reviews mentions the cost, so it’s difficult to know just how low these payments are – when we reached out for comment, we received no reply from Voltio.
They mention the state and federal tax credits, which could save you 26% on the cost of your system. These are not advertised clearly and is instead in their FAQs.
Currently, Voltio Energy has an offer to improve the conditions of any existing solar leases you might be under. The exact nature of this offer is not specified, and whilst it says it’s “ending soon”, there’s no indication of a cut-off date.
Voltio Energy’s website also mentions a referral program – $200 for every referral you register, and $1,000 for each friend or family member that contracts with them. It is not clear, however, if this program is exclusive to their employees/“pack members.” If it is, then this is a rather concerning practice.
Legitimacy
Although Voltio Energy has had a Better Business Bureau profile open since 2020, they are not accredited and sport a concerning F rating. Of note is that this profile is registered to a New Mexico address – it also warns that Voltio Energy has not obtained the necessary contractor license from the New Mexico Construction Industries Division. There is no BBB profile registered to the Las Vegas address given on Voltio’s website, nor in any of the other states that they operate in. Similarly, we could not find any relevant licenses registered in Las Vegas or the greater Nevada area.
On its website, Voltio Energy states that its installations are supported by “highly recognised and certified installation companies.” However, they do not mention any of these companies by name, nor provide any other relevant details on their website. The only partnership they do advertise is that they are an Aeroseal Certified Dealer.
Reviews for Voltio Energy are sparse, with only a handful across Yelp and Google. Whilst they’re largely praised for their customer service and professionalism, some condemn them for pushy sales tactics reminiscent of the many scam warnings the city of Las Vegas has put out over the years. One particularly scathing review describes Voltio as “rats in every expression of the word.”
Maintenance
Voltio Energy’s website promises a staggering 25-year workmanship warranty on all their installations, as well as a 25-year manufacturing warranty for operations and maintenance, and lastly a 10-year warranty on all roofing work done.
One of the most interesting things they offer is a free reinstallation service for solar energy systems when you move house. We are not aware of any other solar energy company that offers such a service, and certainly not free of charge. The cost to the company alone would be staggering, not to mention the amount of work needed to reacquire planning permissions and permits.
The same page claims that they can transfer ownership of the lease and system over to the new owner, with a guarantee, also for zero cost. Both of these services sound very convenient – unrealistically so.
Secret Shopper analysisWe reached out to Voltio Energy, and they offer various products and services, including solar panels, battery backups, water filtration, and air conditioning units. However, there is limited information and online presence for the company. They also offer multiple brands of solar panels, specialize in residential, roof-mounted installations, and provide additional services like roof repairs and home heating systems. Voltio Energy emphasizes financing options with no money down and highlights tax credits, referral programs, and lease improvement offers. However, their lack of response to our inquiry raises concerns. The company’s legitimacy is questionable, with an F rating, and lack of accreditation on the Better Business Bureau, and no verified licenses in the states where they operate. Customer reviews are limited but show a mix of positive and negative experiences. Voltio Energy claims to offer extensive warranties and unique services like free reinstallation and ownership transfer, but these claims seem unrealistic. For several years now, Las Vegas has been warning its citizens against solar energy scams. Although we cannot definitively say that Voltio Energy is one of them, their pushy in-person sales representatives and lack of verifiable licenses certainly raise some suspicions. Despite a lot of big promises on their website and social media, they don’t have much to show for their time in business. As such, we strongly caution you against using Voltio Energy. 3/10.
