PosiGen Overview
Founded in 2011, PosiGen started out with a central vision of giving all types of families access to affordable solar and energy efficiency to help save on energy costs and improve their lives.
In a post-hurricane New Orleans, the founders of PosiGen reportedly shared the city’s frustration in terms of rebuilding. PosiGen was created with a mission to make clean sun energy available and affordable to all; to deliver savings to the families affected by hurricane Katrina and beyond – in the states of Louisiana, Connecticut and New Jersey. As their story goes, PosiGen’s founders identified a need and joined forces to do something about it. With an eye on helping the disadvantaged, the folks at PosiGen apparently got to work. Whether they have followed through on their vision and missions – beyond serving customers well – remains an open question to be tackled in this review.

PosiGen Legitimacy
PosiGen does not disclose specific information on its equipment and workmanship warranties, where these warranties should ideally and generally protect you (the customer) against any and all possible defects and errors.
However, the company did receive 100$ million of seed funding in early 2022, pointing towards some legitimacy.
PosiGen Maintenance
PosiGen is generous in offering life-long (lease-long) maintenance and monitoring. However, we did find various poor reviews about the company’s maintenance capabilities.
But what about if you want to move while under contract with PosiGen? Fortunately, they provide more than one option for those who need to move while still under contract. The first option entails the new homeowner to take on the agreement along with all obligations. PosiGen will relocate your solar power system for a flat fee of $750 only during the time of your move. Alternatively, you can also decide to cancel your lease if you must and you can have the equipment removed for a flat fee of $600.
The SolarEmpower view
One of PosiGen’s greatest attributes must be their flexibility in payment options. However, in the shadow of a large number of negative customer complaints left online, one should definitely give it a second thought if considering to go with this company.
