Kuubix Energy Overview
Kuubix Energy is a sprawling, multi-state company rooted in Visalia, California. Founded in 2016, they pride themselves on being one of the fastest-growing residential solar energy companies in the US, with over 10,000 installations completed and counting.
Although their focus is on residential solar systems, Kuubix casts a wide net to cover commercial and industrial development across several states. Promising a quality product at a competitive price, Kuubrix’s lofty ambitions have taken it far.

Kuubix Energy Installation Costs and Process
Costs
Kuubix Energy prioritises a quality product at a competitive price, drawing from a range of suppliers to ensure you get the best deal for your money. They focus on durable systems to keep your costs low and ensure you get a good return on your investment.
Kuubix is partnered with numerous financing companies across states and offers a variety of financing solutions for those with a tight budget. These include Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs), letting you cut the initial cost in exchange for paying for the power produced; Solar Loans, for an ‘affordable’ monthly payment; and leasing of Solar Panels for no money down, although this is not available in all markets.
Purchasing your solar panels directly may also qualify you for state and federal tax credits or incentives, although Kuubix Energy doesn’t list these specific benefits on their website.
Legitimacy
Kuubix Energy is a legitimate company with multiple accreditations to its name:

- Tesla
- Silfab Solar
- Generac
As well as multiple financing companies, such as Sunrun, Mosaic, Sunlight Financial, and Sunnova Energy.
Despite this impressive array of licenses and partnerships, we must advise caution when it comes to Kuubix; although they boast a review score of 4.6 stars on their website, this is a far cry from their scores elsewhere. SolarReviews gives them a 3.16, Google Reviews a more generous 4.1, and the Better Business Bureau a staggeringly low 2.23. All these low reviews cite a lack of transparency regarding their process and reputation as a sticking point in Kuubix’s service.
Maintenance
Many of Kuubix’s packages for residential and commercial solar energy systems have maintenance included. Kuubix also offers a 25-year warranty on all their products and services – boasting that it’s one of the longest in the industry – and a 10-yer warranty on roof work. However, there’s a notable bit of fine print mentioning that there might be exceptions to this depending on the exact choice of equipment and financing options.
Despite these lofty promises, you may find yourself waiting quite some time for any maintenance or even the installation itself. Delays are common, with some lasting several months before vital components are installed properly. In addition, contacting Kuubix about these delays – or other issues – can be quite a hassle. One reviewer stated that they “will dodge you and avoid calling you back to inform you about your products and issues.” Our experience was similar, as when SolarEmpower attempted to reach out to Kuubix via email, we received no reply.
The SolarEmpower View
Cost: 8/10 | Legitimacy: 9/10 |
Quality: 6/10 | Customer Service: 3/10 |
Kuubix Energy is an ambitious company with a lot of promises regarding the quality of their products and installations. However, their presentation is at odds with the reality experienced by their customers. With significant delays and a distinct lack of communication, you might find yourself frustrated and waiting for that return on investment. We advise caution when working with Kuubix, giving them a 5/10.
