Overview:

Epic Energy is a mid-sized service contractor based out of Roseville CA with branches in Fresno CA, Jamestown CA, and Dallas TX. They do solar, Cool-Roof, HVAC, as well as window and door installations. They are a community-based business using American made products and cater to homeowners and families.

The company has been in business for 11 years and their annual revenue is $1.85m. They are not accredited with the BBB and have a very worrying F rating due to not responding to all customer complaints. We found 85 positive customer recommendations across the databases we trawled, however, there are also many complaints from customers and suppliers.

Epic Energy Solar Panel services and features:

Epic Energy Products:

Solar Panels: Epic Energy offers solar panel installations with 5-25 year warranties. They provide extensive pre-installation home inspections, which may include drone video to assess the most optimal solar set up.

Windows: Epic Energy provides installation of Energy-Star certified windows, doors, and skylights. They install Monte Verde products which are backed by a lifetime guarantee.

Roofing: Epic Energy provides cool-roof installation services, with warranties of up to 50 years. Their roofs can withstand 130mph wind, have the highest fire rating available, and reject blue-green algae.

HVAC: Epic Energy provides repair or replacement services for customer HVAC systems. They offer several types of HVAC systems, including a Split System, Hybrid-Split System, Ductless-Split System, Packaged System, and Geothermal Heat Pump System.

Epic Energy caters to customers in California, but also lists a branch in Dallas, Texas. Epic Energy makes use of sub-contractors to supplement their own staff.

Epic Energy Costs:

Most of Epic Energy customer reviews we examined report that the company offers very competitive prices for their products.

Epic Energy provides warranties for their products as well as financing support. You can purchase, finance or even lease their solar installations. They assist clients with information about available local, state, and federal tax credit and rebate programs to help lower installation costs and maximize long-term savings.

As a cost-cutting company, Epic Energy are definitely an option for budget-oriented customers.

Epic Energy Legitimacy:

Our research found that Epic Energy has been in business for 11 years and owned by Michael Pacada. They have completed over 260 solar installations and at least 363 building permits over the last 4 years.

Epic Energy is definitely a legitimate company with many verifiable, satisfied customers. They have their share of complaints. They seem to make every effort to resolve disputes. Nonetheless, we may recommend against the company due to the sheer volume of complaints that they have received.

Even though they are not accredited by the Better Business Bureau (BBB), they do follow procedures, obtaining the necessary permits before continuing with work as well as using reputable brands like LG and Monte Verde in their installations.

They are sometimes referred to as Epic Home Solar.

Epic Energy Maintenance:

There is not a lot of official documentation available online about their maintenance and care program, but they state that they back their products up with a 10-year workmanship warranty and a 25-year product warranty.

They have consultation forms on their website, or you can call one of their representatives who will provide in-depth details of their programs and services. They also provide free, no obligation estimates.

Many of the customer reviews we read stated that the Epic Energy representatives were extremely friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. They would spend several hours, sometimes up to 5 hours, going over all the details in an understandable manner, explaining what a proper solar installation for their specific property would entail.

The SolarEmpower view:

Overall, Epic Energy seems to offer excellent services with high quality solar installations. However, the number of customer complaints indicates that there are some problems with inconsistent quality assurance and customer service. One customer said that they gave a 5 star review for the Epic Energy crew that did the solar installation, but the Epic Energy crew that did additional patio renovations on their home did sub-par work.

Despite this, in terms of monetary value, Epic Energy have a lot to offer as a one stop shop that can accommodate Solar alongside HVAC, Window & Door, and Cool-Roof installations, so that you don’t have to deal with numerous contractors to complete your project. We give them 5/10 as a trusted solar supplier.

FAQ

Is Epic Energy worth it?

Our analysis found Epic Energy is potentially a good one-stop shop for solar installations, with various financing options available.

Are Epic Energy good to work for?

Epic Energy scored a 4.5 out of 5 from 4 employee reviews. However, there is not enough available data to make a judgment on the company’s work culture.

Are Epic Energy trustworthy?

Our research found that many customers stated they loved the experience they had with the company and all their people. However, there were also many complaints. Some of the complaints were: lack of quality/poor installation; that they used subcontractors instead of their own employees; they were waiting months and hadn’t even started construction; poor customer service; and that some issues with the installations remained unresolved over long periods of time.

Can I cancel a contract with Epic Energy?

Maybe. According to California State law, there is a ‘cooling off’ period in some situations, which allows a customer to cancel a contract within 3 to 5 days. But you must send a written notice to the other party within the 3 to 5 day time frame. If you would like further clarity on whether you can cancel a contract after you have signed it, contact an attorney directly. You can also contact Epic Energy to ask what their cancellation policy is.
