SolarEmpower evolved out of Optical Products Ltd., a company with over 70 years experience in low cost manufacturing.

It was established in 2006 by Barry Clive and Charles Hall to commercialise the portfolio of solar technologies that Barry had developed over a decade of research, working in collaboration with leading UK and European universities and development partners.

From the outset, the main objective of these efforts has been to drive down costs and produce a practical and cost effective solar energy solution.
